Luis Antonio Violin Pereira is a Full Professor in the Department of Structural and Functional Biology at the University of Campinas, Brazil. For more than 30 years, he has worked in the field of Histology, with a particular focus on advanced Bone Biology applied to osseointegration, bone grafting, and bone regeneration in implant dentistry.
Dr. Violin received his medical degree from the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil, in 1991. He earned his Master of Science degree in Cell Biology from the University of Campinas in 1994 and completed his Ph.D. in Human Pathology at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, with academic training at Osaka University, Japan, in 1998.
Publications, Authorship and Collaborations
He is the author and co-author of scientific articles published in international journals such as the Journal of Clinical Periodontology, Clinical Oral Implants Research, and Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research. He also collaborates with Prof. José Carlos da Rosa in research, publication, and teaching related to the Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration technique, contributing lectures on post-extraction socket biology and treatment, as well as the biological principles underlying Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration.
Dr. Violin is the author of the forthcoming book Essential Bone Biology: Osseointegration and Bone Grafts — from Biology to Clinical Outcomes, scheduled for publication in 2027.
Lectures and Courses at IDEA
Dr. Violin has delivered lectures and courses nationally and internationally on advanced Bone Biology, osseointegration, bone grafts, and regenerative procedures in implant dentistry. Over the past decade, he has focused part of his teaching activity on the biological foundations of the Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration technique, working alongside Prof. José Carlos da Rosa in advanced educational programs.
At IDEA, his lectures provide a biologically grounded perspective on post-extraction socket treatment, bone graft integration, osseointegration, and the rationale behind contemporary immediate implant and regenerative approaches.

As modern implant dentistry is evolving into more sophisticated techniques, the latest treatment goals intend to be less invasive to patients, more tissue preservative, and to attempt to reduce the number of surgical procedures. In this course, you will explore new frontiers in modern implantology to master immediate implant placement...

Thank you Dr. da Rosa for opening our minds to the possibilities and dedicating your time to teaching us how to do it in ways that young practitioners, like me can apply in our daily practice. His methods are science-based and simplified into repeatable steps that can be perfected the more you do it. So, thank you for the wonderful learning experience!
Another excellent course at IDEA. Great teacher, excellent facility, excellent hands-on. Another eye opening and practice-changing training.
This was one of the most valuable CE courses I have taken and will change the way that I practice. I would highly recommend the learning experience to any surgeon wanting to elevate the skills they have already. The IDEA facilities were excellent and I look forward to attending more courses.
I'm an Oral Surgeon, and I have done a lot of bone grafts but in an invasive way. Now, I have another approach with less invasive technique, save time and being more effective. Thank you Dr. da Rosa and IDEA!
Another excellent course (José Carlos da Rosa). This has been consistently the only CE I have done that has an immediate, and direct effect on my practice.
Jose Carlos da Rosa tackles some of the most challenging cases in implant dentistry. His steps seem very clear and well explained. Great training, solid, biologic concepts.
Superb course, very well organized! A wealth of didactic information and a fantastic hands-on component. Thank you, Dr. da Rosa!
