Glecio Vaz de Campos DDS, played a significant role in introducing periodontal and peri-implant plastic microsurgery techniques in Brazil, and he has been leading the most relevant training courses on operative microscopy in South America for the last 25 years. Dr Campos holds private practice focused on periodontics and periodontal and peri-implant plastic microsurgery in the cities of Sao Paulo and Jundiaí, Brazil.
He received his DDS degree from São Paulo State University in 1982.
After specializing in Periodontics (1994) and Prosthetics (1997), several years of clinical practice led him to explore new techniques driven to periodontal plastic surgery. In 1996, he was certified by the Microsurgery Training Institute, in Santa Barbara, CA. A few years later, he introduced periodontal and peri-implant plastic microsurgery in South America. Dr. Campos has written 24 book chapters regarding to periodontal and peri-implant plastic microsurgery, as well as articles in journals published in Brazil and abroad. He is the author of the book “Periodontal and Peri-implant Plastic Microsurgery – minimally invasive techniques with maximum precision” published in Portuguese, English, Spanish, and Japanese by Quintessence Publishing.

This course brings the surgical technical precision of vascular surgery as applied to soft tissue grafting. It can be used for treatment of any soft tissue deficiency around teeth or implants, regardless of the phenotype or amount of keratinized tissues. As a singular stand alone technique to solve all these complex problems, it is worth learning for any surgeon that wants more predictable outcomes.
This was a wonderful course which highlighted new techniques, theory behind the procedures and gave multiple clinical cases. The lab practice helped to solidify skills. The faculty was knowledgeable, helpful and essential to the experience.
I just really enjoy the quality of the instructors and facilities. Learning in a small group setting with like-minded colleagues makes the length of the course and the distance travelled worthwhile.
